Vogue Wedding Show 2016 – A Luxurious Wedding Exhibition Par Excellence

On 5th, 6th & 7th August 2016, Taj Palace played host to India’s most exclusive bridal extravaganza – The Vogue Wedding Show 2016, a 3-day luxurious wedding exhibition. Guests got to witness India’s most exclusive bridal extravaganza first-hand. The event had over 50 coveted brands from the bridal world showcasing their collection. The venue itself was done up beautifully and there were three major sections housing various brands.

Some of India’s leading bridal couture designers who were part of the event included Anita Dongre, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Gaurang, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Arora, Monica & Karishma, Manish Malhotra, Misha Lakhani, Payal Singhal, Sabyasachi, Shantanu & Nikhil, Tarun Tahiliani and Varun Bahl.

The ‘by invitation only’ event saw a steady inflow of guests on Day 1 and many were seen interacting with the designers, asking questions, checking out the merchandise and even making purchases. This was truly a wonderful opportunity for all the attendees. Where else would one get the opportunity to just walk up to your favourite designer(s) and have a tête-à-tête.

As the day progressed, there were more people coming in and guests were making a beeline to the section of the venue where expert talks and workshops were being held. Celebrity stylist Avan Contractor’s master-class on wedding hairstyles and haircare took off very well and all the guests were listening to what she had to share with rapt attention. The session ended with a Q&A.

Models were seen walking around the space in wearing collection showcased at the show giving the guests the perfect opportunity to see how a particular lehenga or a sherwani would look when worn. The events of the day ended with Sabyasachi introducing his collection Zanyah with Forevermark Diamonds.

Day 2 of the event got off to a great start again. There was crazy energy all around and guests were seen visiting one stall after the other discussing, contemplating, admiring and even purchasing stuff that caught their fancy.

Renowned makeup artist Namrata Soni’s master-class on bridal make-up and looks was jam-packed. Guests were all ears to what she had to say and some even didn’t mind standing as all the seats were taken. Namrata also gave a live demo of certain make-up looks/trends and took questions from the guests and answered them all with a smile. Overall, the session ended well.

Towards the second half of the day, there was also an interactive session by renowned wedding planner Vandana Mohan who answered questions on destinations, weddings and planning. Day 2 ended on a high note.

The event showcased the finest, latest and most exclusive services in the bridal world at Taj Palace. We got to attend the first two days of the show and we must say that we were totally bowled over.
