Upgrading SMITE 2 Founders Editions Guide

SMITE 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular third-person MOBA, introduces Founders Editions as the premier way to support development and gain early access perks. These editions—Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate—offer escalating rewards, from unlimited god access to exclusive cross-gen skins. While upgrade paths are not yet live, official plans confirm they will arrive soon, allowing base game buyers to level up later.

Understanding the Founders Editions Tiers

The Founders Editions cater to different player commitments, blending core gameplay access with cosmetic exclusives. All tiers guarantee entry into the closed alpha and future betas, plus benefits that carry over from SMITE 1 via account linking.

Purchasing any tier now secures alpha access and time-limited rewards like exclusive badges, which may not be available post-launch.

Current Availability and Purchase Platforms

Founders Editions launched across major platforms: Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, and PlayStation. Players must buy directly from these storefronts, as cross-platform linking via SMITE 1’s Divine Legacy page is required for rewards activation.

• Steam: Seamless integration, but watch for Xbox app conflicts if cross-progression is enabled.
• Epic Games: Ideal for PC players seeking Unreal Engine 5 optimization.
• Xbox/PlayStation: Console versions include cross-gen perks, with refunds on prior gem spends.

Act during the closed alpha for bonus skins; post-alpha, some items shift to gem purchases.

Step-by-Step: Linking Accounts for Rewards

To claim Founders benefits, log into SMITE 1 first and visit the Divine Legacy page. This links your accounts, unlocking cross-gen content and 2x Legacy Gems on eligible past purchases.

1. Launch SMITE 1 and navigate to the Divine Legacy section.
2. Link your SMITE 2 platform account (Steam/Epic/Xbox/PSN).
3. Purchase Founders Edition on the same platform.
4. Redeem in SMITE 2 client; gods and skins appear after restart.

Note: Steam-Xbox linking issues may require Xbox app installation for PC play, potentially affecting anti-cheat.

Future Upgrade Paths Explained

Hi-Rez Studios confirms upgrade options for base edition owners once implemented in-game. Start with Standard now and upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate later, preserving early buyer perks like alpha access.

Post-launch, Founders packs evolve into ‘All Gods Packs,’ retaining value. Exclusive skins and 2x gems incentivize early upgrades—delaying risks missing them.

• Upgrade Timing: Expected with full release or major patch.
• Cost Efficiency: Better value now for 2x gems if planning Ultimate God Pack anyway.
• Risks of Waiting: Limited-time cosmetics become gem-only.

Cross-Gen Skins: Play Across Both Games

Deluxe and Ultimate shine with cross-gen skins usable in SMITE 1 and 2. Nightstalker Neith (Deluxe) offers shadowy aesthetics, while The Fallen Zeus (Ultimate) introduces SMITE 2’s first Tier 5 transformation skin.

All tiers double Legacy Gems from past purchases, refundable on Ultimate. Unlimited Ascension Passes unlock battle pass rewards for all 23 alpha gods forever.

Status Symbols: Badges, Titles, Avatars

Display your founder status with unique icons and titles, escalating from Standard Founders to Ultimate’s premium variants.

Is a Founders Edition Worth It?

For dedicated fans, yes—unlimited access, exclusives, and dev support outweigh costs. Casual players might wait for base game, but upgrades ensure no FOMO on gems/skins.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

• Gods Not Unlocked: Re-link via Xbox app on PC; restart client.
• Skins Missing: Ensure SMITE 1 login and Divine Legacy completion.
• Platform Conflicts: Avoid mixing Steam/Xbox launches due to anti-cheat.

SMITE 2: What Makes It a Must-Play Sequel

Built on Unreal Engine 5, SMITE 2 enhances visuals, animations, and mechanics while preserving MOBA roots. Founders fuel this evolution, granting priority queue and dev insights.
