Unlock Every Joker in Balatro

Balatro features 150 unique Jokers that transform your poker runs into powerful synergies. While 105 are available from the start, the rest require specific achievements, from simple purchases to high-score feats. This guide breaks down every category, with strategies to unlock them efficiently.

Getting Started: The Basics of Joker Discovery

Many Jokers unlock simply by encountering them in shops during unseeded runs. Play multiple attempts, purchase any new ones you see, and they permanently join your collection. For speed, restart runs quickly by pausing and selecting ‘Try Again’—this preserves progress on discovery-based unlocks.

• Purchase Jokers like Jolly Joker, Credit Card, or Misprint in shops.
• Expect around 100 to unlock this way through consistent play.
• Track progress in the Collection menu; effects are listed even before purchase.

Pro tip: Use high-card strategies early to fail blinds fast, accelerating unlocks like Mr. Bones after five losses.

Easy Action-Based Unlocks

These Jokers reward basic gameplay milestones. Focus on them first for quick progress.

Polychrome Jokers shine gold; skip packs to tag them easily. Spectral Deck starts with a free spectral card for Bootstrap.

Progress and Win Condition Unlocks

Stake and round-based Jokers demand steady advancement. Prioritize economy Jokers like Golden Joker ($4 per round) for sustainability.

• Showman: Reach Ante 4.
• Flower Pot: Reach Ante 8.
• Winner: Win in 18 or fewer rounds (skip aggressively).

Skip shop and blinds to minimize rounds. Pair with multiplier Jokers for Antes.
