Top Gear for Successful DMZ Exfils

In the high-stakes world of DMZ, extraction isn’t just about reaching the chopper—it’s about doing so with the richest haul possible. Selecting the right weapons and items transforms risky runs into profitable ventures, allowing players to secure contraband, unlock exclusives, and build unstoppable loadouts. This guide dives deep into optimized choices for exfiling, drawing from proven tactics to help you dominate Al Mazrah.

Understanding DMZ Extraction Mechanics

DMZ demands strategic preparation before every infil. Your insured loadout deploys with you, but only exfiling preserves non-insured loot like ground-found weapons and rare keys. Fail to extract, and everything vanishes. Cash speeds up insured weapon cooldowns, making it a top priority alongside high-value items. Hostage rescues unlock bonus exfils, bypassing camper-heavy zones. Squads of three excel for covering objectives and exfils, outperforming solos.

Focus loot on items over 500 value to save time—skip junk. Throwing knives shine as silent lethals for stealth kills without alerting foes. Prioritize ammo-diverse ground guns like the Victus XMR or RPK for sustained fights.

Elite Primary Weapons for Exfil Security

Primary weapons form your defense during tense exfil windows. Prioritize versatility, recoil control, and mythic armor penetration for close-to-mid range dominance.

• ISO Hemlock: Delivers consistent four-taps on armored foes with low recoil. Pair with extended mags and suppressors for quiet, sustained fire.
• TAQ-V: LMG powerhouse for suppressive fire. High capacity shreds squads rushing your exfil.
• SO-14: Battle rifle that two-shots legged targets. Ideal for precise, high-damage picks at range.
• Lachmann Sub: SMG for CQC exfil defense. Rapid TTK melts campers in tight zones.
• RPK: Ground loot favorite with diverse ammo compatibility. Heavy hitter for prolonged engagements.

These picks excel due to attachments unlocking via DMZ progression, like the M13B assault rifle exclusive. Customize in gunsmith pre-infil for optimal performance.

Secondary Weapons and Tacticals for Backup

Secondaries cover swaps when primaries run dry. Pistols and shotguns provide quick insurance.

Tacticals like Stuns and Flashes disorient ambushers, while Semtex sticks to vehicles for anti-chopper plays. Throwing knives remain meta for silent takedowns.

Must-Exfil Items and High-Value Contraband

Not all loot equals exfil priority. Target these for progression and buy station dominance.

• Keys (Rare/Contested): Unlock armories and strongholds packed with legendaries.
• Weapon Cases: Seasonal rewards like M13B unlockables—prime targets but hunted heavily.
• High-Tier Vests (T3+): Plate up mid-game for survival.
• Cash Piles ($5K+): Buy back insured gear faster.
• Tracking Devices: Mission items for Crown faction exfil plays.

Aetherium Crystals and tools boost Zombies crossovers, but DMZ focuses on keys and cases for pure value.

Optimal Loadout Builds for Extraction

Assemble meta loadouts balancing mobility and power.

Balanced Assault Build

• Primary: ISO Hemlock (VLK Lazer, 45-Round Mag, Bruen Heavy, Demo Precision Elite)
• Secondary: GS Magna (Akimbo, Extended)
• Perk: Double Time, Scavenger, Ghost
• Benefit: All-range coverage, ammo sustain for squad wipes.

LMG Anchor Build

• Primary: TAQ-V (500mm, 7.62 Overpressured, Bruen LMG Grip)
• Secondary: Lockwood 300
• Perk: Overkill, High Alert
• Benefit: Suppress exfil zones indefinitely.

Solo Stealth Build

• Primary: Lachmann Sub (Ranger Foregrip, Sonic Suppressor)
• Lethal: Throwing Knife
• Tactical: Smoke
• Benefit: Ghost past patrols, quick knife exfils.

These builds leverage DMZ’s sandbox, adapting to solo or trio play.

Exfil Strategies to Avoid Campers

Exfils draw wolves—counter with intel and misdirection.

1. Scout First: Use UAVs or Dead Drop trackers to spot choppers.
2. Hostage Play: Rescue for private exfils, dodging public sites.
3. Feint and Rotate: Announce one exfil, take another.
4. Upgrades Matter: Buy Advanced UAVs and Precision Airstrikes to clear nests.
5. Squad Comms: One watches bird, others flank.

Solo? Smoke and dash—upgrades like exfil speed boosts save lives.

Progression Unlocks from Smart Exfils

Exfiling weapons like M13B grants multiplayer access. Cash funds buy stations for loadout drops mid-match. Faction missions like Exfil Tracking reward XP tokens and camos. Consistent runs snowball into god-tier gear.

Common Pitfalls and Fixes

Avoid over-looting—time kills. Don’t exfil empty-handed; partial loads beat death. Watch for mythic boss spawns near zones. Rotate early if contested.
