9 Important Things Brides Forget To Do On Wedding Day

As a guest, weddings are super fun! You get to eat free food and dance like no one’s watching. But as a bride, it can be pretty confusing. The wedding day is something that most women dream about. It is that day when they start their lives ‘officially’ with the man of their dreams. It is the day when they bid adieu to their parents’ house and move into the new house which they make their own. It is the day when they turn from being ‘Miss’ to ‘Mrs.’

No matter how special it may be, the wedding day comes with its own bag of mixed emotions. And in the moment, a bride who is tired, ecstatic, overwhelmed and generally soaking in the emotions – might forget to do some of the things she must for herself.

Here, then, is a list of all the things which a bride forgets to do on her wedding day:

1. Smile!

Not just for the photographs but just generally. It is a psychologically proven fact that even those who are in a terrible mood can end up feeling at ease just by smiling. So if you’re nervous or just confused, SMILE! Trust me, it’ll do wonders for your mood.

2. Breathe

All the heavy jewelry and gown and hairstyle and makeup can make one feel pretty stuffed. The emotions on a roller coaster ride don’t really help either. So remind yourself to breathe easy. Deep breathing helps clearing out foggy thoughts and thus elevates the mood and lets you enjoy the moment.

3. Greet

Ideally, everyone attending your wedding will be someone close to you, and so greeting them becomes less of a “thing to do,” of which there are many on your wedding day. However, if you do manage to interact with the folks who have come to share in your moment of happiness, you’ll be happier for it.

4. Look The Folks Up

If your folks are at your wedding, you can bet it’s an important day – to put it mildly – in their lives as well. So take a minute, go give each of them a hug and just take in the moment. It’ll be one more excellent memory to keep in the bank and treasure at will.

5. Spend Time With Your Husband

Being nervous is okay, and he probably too is feeling the same. So just be with him. Hold hands, look into each other’s eyes and let the feeling sink in. Let your hearts to the talking and convey to each other that you’re now, officially, together!

6. Be Present In The Moment

There is nothing worse than waking up the next day and thinking about your wedding day and not being able to recall parts of it. Remind yourself that it is YOUR wedding! It is YOUR special day so relax and just enjoy each moment so that you can relive it in your memory for the years to come and feel happy again.

7. Dance

You are not going to get married every day, are you? So dance like no one’s watching! Making it an even more memorable day by fully enjoying yourself and letting your hair down. After all, you’d want to remember the day as the time when you were truly happy and not a day when you sat around like an awkward shy bride.

8. Eat

Yes! A lot of brides actually forget to eat on their wedding day. Even if you don’t feel like it, just remind yourself that you paid a bomb for it and you’ll automatically want to pick up a plate! ;) On a serious note, eating at the wedding or keeping yourself well-fed is important as most couples rush for their honeymoon soon after. And in that case you won’t really have time to stop and pick up a snack.

9. Thank Everyone

Be grateful and thank everyone for being a part of your special day. They’ve come over just for you and thus deserve a note of thanks – even that one aunt you can’t generally stand!

Remember, weddings can be daunting, but if you remember to breathe and just relax, the experience is pretty great in the moment, and just as memorable at a point of later reminiscence.
