Road to Season City Quest Guide

Navigating the underground wonders of Zaralek Cavern in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight introduces players to unique quests like Road to Season City. This task connects the bustling hub of Valdrakken with the barter-focused economy of Loamm, requiring specific prerequisites and precise travel. Players must first tackle Bartering 101 before picking up this delivery mission, which involves transporting goods to key NPCs.

Unlocking the Quest Chain

Before diving into Road to Season City, ensure your character has progressed through initial Zaralek Cavern content. The quest becomes available only after completing Bartering 101, offered by Ponzo in Loamm. This introductory barter quest teaches the basics of the region’s trading system, essential for later tasks.

• Locate Ponzo in Loamm, the central underground city.
• Complete Bartering 101 to gain access to advanced quests.
• Head to Valdrakken in Thaldraszus for the next step.

Once Bartering 101 is done, travel to Valdrakken and find Kayann at coordinates approximately X:36, Y:62. She provides the Road to Season City quest, marking your entry into Season City-related activities.

Quest Objectives and Step-by-Step Walkthrough

The core objective is to deliver Yusa’s Hearty Stews and Grand Banquets of the Kalu’ak to Phiary in Loamm. This isn’t a simple hand-in; it ties into Dragonflight’s barter mechanics, where items like stews and banquets are crafted or obtained through trading.

1. Accept from Kayann: In Valdrakken’s central area, speak to Kayann to pick up the quest.
2. Gather Items: Acquire Yusa’s Hearty Stews (likely from cooking or bartering) and Grand Banquets of the Kalu’ak, which reference Kalu’ak faction rewards from past expansions.
3. Travel to Loamm: Use dragonriding or flight paths to enter Zaralek Cavern and reach Loamm.
4. Deliver to Phiary: Hand over the items to complete the quest, unlocking further Season City progression.

Zaralek Cavern’s layout can be tricky; use the map to pinpoint Loamm’s entrance west of the Obsidian Citadel. Dragonriding glyphs in the area speed up travel significantly.

Preparation Tips for Smooth Completion

Success hinges on preparation. Players should be at least level 70, with dragonriding unlocked for efficient movement across Dragon Isles zones.

Stock up on provisions and ensure your bags have space. If you’re new to bartering, practice in Loamm’s market area first.

Integrating with Dragonflight Campaign

Road to Season City fits into broader Dragonflight progression. After leveling through Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span, and Thaldraszus, Zaralek Cavern opens in patch 10.1. This quest enhances rep with local factions like the Loamm Niffen, aiding access to Season City events.

Combine with nearby world quests for extra XP. For alts, use the scouting map at coordinates 76,34 in Valdrakken to jumpstart zone access.

Common Challenges and Solutions

Players often struggle with item acquisition. Yusa’s Hearty Stews may require cooking profession skills or bartering with vendors. Grand Banquets tie into Kalu’ak rep—grind dailies in Northrend if needed.

• Issue: Can’t find Kayann. Check Valdrakken’s main hub near the forge area.
• Issue: Items missing. Visit Loamm traders or craft them.
• Issue: Travel delays. Unlock all dragonriding talents for faster flights.

For groups, coordinate via party finder for shared progress on cavern events.

Rewards and Progression Unlocks

Completing Road to Season City grants gold, XP, and rep boosts, paving the way for Season City dailies and barter hubs. It connects to patch 10.1’s barter system, where trading undercity goods yields rare gear. Expect follow-up quests involving Phiary and other Niffen NPCs.

Advanced Strategies for Season City Access

Beyond the basics, optimize by completing nearby campaigns like those in Forbidden Reach or Tyr’s Guard reforging. Weekly quests from Theol in Valdrakken offer raid gear, complementing this chain.

In Season 4, prioritize events like Super Bloom or Researchers Under Fire for synergy. Timewalking raids provide gear upgrades, ensuring you’re ready for Season City challenges.

Zone Overview: Zaralek Cavern Essentials

Zaralek Cavern, introduced in 10.1, features volcanic landscapes and Niffen society. Key hubs include Loamm for bartering and Season City for endgame activities. Flight masters connect seamlessly to Dragon Isles.

• Unlock dragonriding early for exploration.
• Collect glyphs for max speed.
• Engage in world quests for rep.

Alt Character Optimization

For alts, skip linear leveling by using scouting map quests. World quests auto-unlock, providing quick XP. Focus on main campaign to hit level 70 fast, then tackle Road to Season City.
