Renewal of Vows WoW Guide

The Renewal of Vows quest marks a pivotal moment in World of Warcraft Dragonflight’s Ohn’ahran Plains storyline, where players facilitate a ceremonial renewal of ties between the Maruuk Centaur and the green dragonflight. This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough, including the precise offerings required, location details, rewards, and contextual lore to ensure smooth completion.

Quest Overview and Prerequisites

Renewal of Vows (Quest ID: 66783) is the culminating task in the ‘Bonds Renewed’ chapter of the Ohn’ahran Plains arc. Players assist Merithra, a key green dragonflight representative, in orchestrating a recitation-based ceremony with centaur leaders: Sansok Khan, Tigari Khan, and Khanam Matra Sarest. The objective involves interpreting poetic verses and selecting appropriate gifts symbolizing each clan’s heritage.

To access this quest, complete prior Ohn’ahran Plains main storyline quests, including those involving the centaur clans’ convoy to Maruukai. It becomes available after advancing through the regional narrative, typically around quest 130 in the Dragonflight campaign. No specific level is required beyond the zone’s scaling (around level 60-70), but familiarity with clan lore enhances the experience.

Understanding the Ceremonial Recitation

Merithra recites ancient verses commemorating the centaurs’ historical pact with the green dragonflight. Each line corresponds to a clan’s defining trait, drawn from events in the Ohn’ahran Plains storyline:

• Hunters valuing skill: ‘From the hunters who value skill above all, a rite of passage: a first.’ This nods to Sansok Khan’s hunter lineage.
• Mystics and wind: ‘From the mystics who commune with the wind, her lightest touch: a lift.’ This references Tigari Khan’s spiritual connection.
• Matriarch descendants: ‘From the descendants of the matriarch, a drop of unbroken progeny: a line.’ This pertains to Khanam Matra Sarest’s familial legacy.

Interacting with each khan presents dialogue options representing potential offerings. Choosing correctly advances the quest; errors require retrying via kill credits or resets.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Locate the ceremony site in Ohn’ahran Plains near Maruukai, coordinated by Merithra. Proceed sequentially through the khans.

1. Sansok Khan’s Offering

Sansok Khan, leader of the skilled hunters, requires an item tied to her first achievement. Select: ‘Suggest a trophy from her first hunt.’ This accepts her offering, fulfilling ‘Sansok Khan’s offering accepted.’ Incorrect choices trigger kill credits for retry.

2. Tigari Khan’s Offering

Tigari Khan, mystic attuned to winds, needs a symbol of elevation. Choose: ‘Suggest she offer an eagle feather.’ This represents the wind’s ‘lightest touch: a lift,’ completing ‘Tigari Khan’s offering accepted.’

3. Khanam Matra Sarest’s Offering

Khanam Matra Sarest embodies matriarchal continuity. Opt for: ‘Suggest she offer blood.’ This signifies ‘a drop of unbroken progeny: a line,’ achieving ‘Khanam Matra’s offering accepted.’ Deliver all items to Merithra.

4. Merithra’s Contribution and Ceremony

After the third offering, Merithra provides her gift for Khanam Matra Sarest (‘Merithra’s offering given’). A cutscene ensues (‘Ceremony finished’), concluding the exchange and transitioning to future arcs like the Azure Span.

Pro Tip: If stuck, abandon and reacquire from Merithra. All interactions occur in a linear instance near Maruukai.
