Order of Giants DLC: Indy Returns September 2025

Indiana Jones fans have a new adventure on the horizon with the announcement of The Order of Giants DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This expansion promises to deepen the game’s narrative by plunging players into the shadowy underbelly of ancient Rome, where myths of beasts and giants collide with historical intrigue.

Announcement and Release Timeline

The DLC was unveiled during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, generating buzz among gamers eager for more from MachineGames’ acclaimed title. Set to launch on September 4, 2025, it will be available across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, ensuring broad accessibility.

Originally teased at Gamescom 2024 alongside the base game’s launch details, this content builds anticipation through a compelling teaser trailer that hints at perilous journeys and forgotten secrets.

Story Expansion: Rome’s Hidden Depths

Players return as the iconic archaeologist, venturing into Rome’s forgotten catacombs that twist into sinister territories. The plot revolves around a myth of a beast guarding a terrible secret, drawing Indiana Jones into a quest against a dangerous cult tied to the Nephilim giants—a faction linked to the base game’s antagonist, Locus.

Indy’s journey begins with Father Ricci, a desperate young priest seeking a Roman artifact. What starts as a routine treasure hunt escalates into confrontations with Emperor Nero’s gladiatorial schemes, the enigmatic Cult of Mithras, and shadowy threats lurking in the darkness.

This expansion specifically extends the Vatican City storyline from the main game, offering fresh lore on the Nephilim Order while maintaining the whip-cracking, puzzle-solving essence of the franchise.

New Gameplay Features and Mechanics

Expect an all-new story chapter packed with intricate puzzles crafted by ancient emperors, demanding sharp wits and keen observation. Combat encounters will challenge players against cultists and other foes in claustrophobic underground settings.

• Expanded Exploration: Navigate bustling Roman streets descending into perilous catacombs.
• Puzzle Variety: Decipher cryptic mechanisms tied to imperial history.
• Combat Intensity: Face gladiators and cult enforcers in dynamic skirmishes.
• Adventure Books: Unlock two new books granting skill enhancements for tougher challenges.

These elements integrate seamlessly with the base game’s first-person perspective, emphasizing stealth, melee brawls, and environmental interactions that define Indy’s escapades.

Purchase Options and Pricing

The DLC is included with Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Collector’s Editions of the base game, providing instant access at launch for those owners. For others, it will be available as a standalone purchase requiring the base game.

No final standalone price has been universally confirmed beyond Steam’s Premium listing, but expect competitive pricing aligned with major expansions.

For eager players, a cheeky unlock method exists in the base game: Travel to any Vatican map area and input the classic Konami code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A). This reveals a pop-up and adds the new travel point to your journal, teasing the upcoming content.
