Numberdar Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born on 19th May 1974 in the agrarian village of Budhana in district Muzaffarnagar in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The eldest of eight siblings, Nawaz had no interest didn’t have any interest in farming or its associated activities despite hailing from a family of agricultural Zamindars (Landlords). Post graduation, Nawaz reached Vadodara to work as a chemist, and then made his way to New Delhi in search of greener pastures.

It was in Delhi that he was drawn to acting and especially at first, theatre, and his passion soon landed him a coveted seat at New Delhi’s National School of Drama (NSD). It was no portal to success, however, and after the completion of his course, Nawaz spend many a year barely getting by in the vibrant yet fast-moving city of Mumbai.

He managed to play a few characters during that tough phase, but it was really the 2009 film New York that brought him out of the darkness and some much needed attention. Post New York, a few more (meatier) roles followed, but it was the cult classic Gangs Of Wasseypur, specifically his role and exceptional acting within it, that made him a household name, and established him as one of the newest breed of actors within Bollywood (as opposed to being a movie star), a category that he squarely heads today.

The rest, as you know is history, and Nawaz has since long secured the position and reputation as one of the most sought after actors in Indian (or otherwise) cinema. He is loved for his performances by critics and the masses alike.

Nawazuddin has always been a private person, and the media and tabloids generally have to be content with scraps as far as the juicy details go. For this reason, little is known about Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s marriage to Aliya Anjali Siddiqui, especially as the wedding took place just about at the time the public was becoming more aware about this superstar to be.

What our research says is this: Nawaz and Aliya had a conservative arranged marriage at Nawazuddin’s native place, the aforementioned Budhana and they likely tied the knot circa 2008. Aliya hails from Jabalpur, in Madhya Pradesh. A year after their wedding the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, whom they named Shora.

In 2015, Nawaz’s 41st birthday was a most memorable one given that his wife delivered their second child on May 19, meaning that Nawaz and Yaani, his son, share the same birthday! An interview shortly after the fact saw Nawaz clarifying that he had always had that name in his mind if he was ever to be father to a boy.
