The Eye of the Storm stands as one of the most cinematically engaging missions within Starfield’s Crimson Fleet storyline. This penultimate quest combines exploration, combat, and environmental challenges into a memorable sequence that demands careful preparation and tactical execution. Whether you’re a seasoned player or tackling this mission for the first time, understanding its mechanics and prerequisites will significantly enhance your success rate.

Pre-Mission Preparation and Requirements

Before embarking on this dangerous assignment, you must ensure your vessel is properly equipped. The mission requires two essential technological upgrades that were obtained during previous Crimson Fleet activities. These modules serve a critical function: they enable your ship to penetrate the electromagnetic field surrounding Bannoc IV, the derelict vessel’s location.

Installing Critical Ship Modules

Upon returning to The Key and conferring with Naeva, you’ll receive your final briefing from Delgado. During this conversation, he explains the urgency of your mission and the threat posed by UC SysDef forces amassing nearby. Before setting course for Bannoc IV, you must install two technological components on your vessel:

  • ComSpike Module — This device enables your scanner to locate targets within electromagnetic storms
  • Conduction Grid Module — This system allows your ship’s hull to withstand the intense environmental conditions near the derelict

To install these modules, dock your ship at The Key and access the ship modification terminal. Navigate to the equipment section and select both modules for installation. This process is straightforward through the standard ship customization interface, though you may need to ask station personnel for assistance if you’re unfamiliar with the modification system.

Reaching Bannoc IV and Initial Approach

With your ship properly equipped, set your navigation computer for the Bannoc Star System. The journey itself presents an extraordinary visual spectacle as you approach your destination. The electromagnetic storms surrounding this sector create dramatic visual effects, and as you navigate closer to the coordinates, a massive shadow gradually emerges—the silhouette of the legendary GalBank Transport
