Life is Strange PS5 Collection: Full Breakdown

The Life is Strange Collection brings together the entire narrative adventure series from Square Enix into a single PS5 package, priced at $59.99 and set for release on October 2, 2025. This retail-exclusive bundle promises all five core games along with their DLC, but a key caveat—only two titles ship on the physical disc, with the rest delivered digitally via redemption code—has sparked debate among fans hoping for a fully physical set.

What’s Inside the Collection?

This compilation gathers the franchise’s multi-award-winning entries, each known for its emotional storytelling, choice-driven gameplay, and supernatural elements. Here’s the complete lineup:

• Life is Strange Remastered: Relive Max Caulfield’s time-rewinding journey in Arcadia Bay, updated with enhanced visuals and performance.
• Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered: A prequel focusing on young Chloe Price, featuring branching narratives and emotional decision-making.
• Life is Strange 2: Follow brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz on a cross-country road trip, dealing with supernatural abilities and family bonds.
• Life is Strange: True Colors Deluxe Edition: Step into Alex Chen’s shoes as a psychic empath uncovering mysteries in the colorful town of Haven Springs, complete with all DLC.
• Life is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition: Return to Max Caulfield in a dual-timeline murder mystery, including every expansion and bonus content.

Every game comes bundled with all associated DLC and pre-order incentives, making this a comprehensive archive of the series’ content. The franchise has earned over 100 awards, including BAFTA, Peabody, and GLAAD honors, for its heartfelt tales blending everyday drama with the supernatural.

Physical vs. Digital: The Disc Details

While marketed as a ‘complete’ collection, the physical product isn’t entirely disc-based. The box contains:

True Colors and Double Exposure received standalone physical PS5 releases previously, explaining their inclusion on disc. The remasters of the originals and Life is Strange 2, however, rely on digital downloads, which some collectors view as a drawback despite the overall value.

Release Info and Pre-Order Guide

Exclusively available in retail stores and online via select partners, pre-orders opened on July 15, 2025, through the official Square Enix store and retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. The standard edition lists at $59.99, with occasional discounts spotted as low as $44.98.

• Launch Date: October 2, 2025 (PS5 only)

For newcomers, this beats buying titles separately—True Colors alone retails for $60 digitally—while veterans get an easy way to consolidate their library.

The Life is Strange Franchise: A Narrative Legacy

Since 2015, Life is Strange has redefined episodic adventures with player choices shaping profound outcomes. Core to the series is its focus on relatable characters facing moral dilemmas amid otherworldly powers.

Key Themes Across the Series:

• Time manipulation and alternate realities
• Family, friendship, and loss
• Supernatural empathy and telekinesis
• Exploration of mental health and identity

From Max and Chloe’s iconic friendship to Alex Chen’s empathetic investigations, each entry builds on the last, evolving gameplay while preserving emotional depth. Double Exposure marks a fan-favorite return, bridging old and new timelines.

Pros and Cons of the Collection

This bundle offers strong value but isn’t without trade-offs.

Critics note the remasters’ ‘broadly maligned’ reception due to graphical tweaks that altered the originals’ charm, yet the package remains a solid entry point.

Why Buy This Collection?

For completionists, it’s the definitive way to own the saga physically (mostly). New players benefit from bundled DLC, avoiding fragmented purchases. At under $12 per game equivalent, it’s competitively priced against digital sales.

Square Enix positions it as a celebration of the series’ legacy, inviting players into ‘cinematic, emotional adventures’ across timelines and towns.
