Whether you want to try a new look or are trying to salvage your mane after a bad hair cut, waiting patiently for your hair to grow back might be a very difficult task. (I’ve been there, and I know how much it sucks!)

Luckily for you, we have a few tips that will fasten the process of hair growth.

Before we proceed to the methods that promote hair growth, it is very essential to understand the reason for slow hair growth and why the rate of growth varies from time to time.

Hair growth is a fragile process, and most of the time, we don’t even bother to notice or understand the pattern until the growth stagnates for a long time. Most of us would like to believe that hair problems are usually due to genetic factors and external influences. However, our daily habits also have a huge impact on our hair growth pattern.

These include harsh or prolonged chemical hair treatments, emotional or physical trauma, stress, hormonal changes, especially during pregnancy or menopause, sleep deprivation, nutritional deficiency, or due to the side effects of certain medications.

Don’t panic if you’re going through this phase. We have a miracle ingredient that promotes hair growth and can help you get rid of all your hair problems.

This age-old secret ingredient is avocado. The early Egyptians were the first ones to recognize the benefits of avocado, and used it to promote hair growth, add shine and luster to their hair, and prevent hair loss.

Ever wondered how avocado can help in promoting hair growth?

Here is the answer:

Avocados, also known as alligator pears, are rich in vitamins B and E. These vitamins work at the cellular level to strengthen and protect the hair.

Vitamin E repairs scalp damage, one of the main reasons that stop or slow down the process of hair growth. Vitamin B promotes hair growth. These vitamins work by penetrating deep into the epidermis layer, thereby strengthening the hair.

In addition, avocados also contain many potent phytochemicals, antioxidants, amino acids, and minerals such as iron, copper, magnesium, and potassium that help in promoting hair growth and nourishing hair cells. They also add shine and luster to hair, lock moisture in the cells, and strengthen the roots, shafts, and strands.

Ways In Which You Can Use Avocado

1. Avocado Oil

The oil that is extracted from pressing the fruit is rich in monounsaturated fats, vitamins, proteins, and minerals. Because of its lubricating nature, avocado oil coats all the strands of hair, making them stronger and shinier.

The amount of monounsaturated fatty acid present in avocado oil is higher than that in extra virgin olive oil, and thus, it is one of the main reasons why it is good for your hair. Along with adding moisturizing properties and protecting our hair from environmental factors, the application of avocado oil also stimulates the growth of new hair and unclogs blocked follicles.

You can use avocado oil in a number of ways:

1. As A Hair Oil

Since it penetrates deep into the scalp, avocado oil doesn’t leave any sort of stiffness on the surface of the hair. Hence, it works as a great hair oil.

2. As A Moisturizer

Due to its ability to penetrate deep into the scalp and hair strands, it provides a wet environment for the hair, and hence, can be used as a great moisturizer.

How To Apply Avocado Oil On Hair
You Will Need
  • 1-2 spoons glycerine
  • 1-2 spoons of avocado oil
  • 1/4 of a skin soap

Step 1. Mix all the ingredients. You can also add all the ingredients in a bottle and shake it well.

Step 2. Take the solution and apply it to your scalp and hair.

Step 3. Allow it to settle for 10–15 minutes.

Step 4. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Massaging this oil on your scalp promotes blood flow. Once the nutrients reach the hair follicles, they work upon them to promote new and healthier growth of hair.

Step 4. Keep the hair mask for half an hour. Then, rinse it with lukewarm water. Make sure to remove all the traces of the mask properly.
