1. Kerala :

Offering beaches, backwaters, forests and mountains, this smorgasbord of experiences will leave your mouth hanging as you sip bewilderedly on a coconut. Lovers of ayurvedic spas will be delighted with the sheer wealth of options to choose from. The lushness of the surroundings, coupled with all the aromas of their delicious cuisine will leave you wanting more. Kerala just keeps giving you more and more, with tons of options as far as activities go. For the ultimate experience, go for a cruise on the backwaters and meander down the river all day and then crash in a floating house, where you’ll be greeted by the water lapping at your balcony rail.

2. Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir :

3. Dalhousie :

Ensconced in charm, Dalhousie is a winter paradise. Sitting prettily atop the Dauladhar Range, this city is beautiful throughout the year; but in winter it all turns fantastical. Imbued with a natural abundance of old-world appeal and the ambiance of the British Raj, this is a beautiful city for some lonely walk together. You can stay in one of the array of new, modern hotels that have come up on the Mall Road, or choose to go vintage and get waited on hand and foot in one of the old repurposed Victorian mansions; perhaps explore some of those Jane Austen fantasies that you might have had, ‘oh Mr. Darcy!’ indeed. The snow lets loose in January, and this is universally acknowledged as one of the best times to visit. The pristine white blanket of snow looks spectacular, but doesn’t really let you do much of anything. The recommendation for tourists at this time is to do nothing; curl up under a blanket together, with steaming mugs of hot chocolate, and do nothing.
