Escape from Tarkov players seeking to advance with Skier will encounter the Golden Swag quest, a straightforward yet tense mission set entirely on the Customs map. This task requires securing a specific item and placing it in a designated spot, testing your knowledge of key locations and survival instincts amid heavy player traffic.
Quest Overview and Prerequisites
The Golden Swag quest becomes available at level 8 and is issued by Skier. It demands two main objectives: locate the Gilded Zibbo lighter inside the three-story dorms and then conceal it within a portable cabin at the trailer park. No extraction is necessary for completion, allowing for quick turnaround if executed properly.
- Level Requirement: Player level 8
- Map: Customs
- Quest Giver: Skier
- Key Items Needed: Dorm room 303 key and Trailer park portable cabin key
Preparation is crucial. Stock up on keys beforehand or plan routes that might yield them during raids. The Trailer park key arrives via mail from Skier upon quest acceptance, simplifying one part of the hunt.
Acquiring Essential Keys
Success hinges on two keys, each with defined spawn points across Customs.
Dorm Room 303 Key
This key unlocks the critical room on the third floor of the three-story dorms. Common spawns include desks and jackets in nearby rooms like 314 or 300, as well as marked rooms in the two-story dorms. Players often loot jackets hanging on walls or check filing cabinets in office areas. Be cautious, as dorms attract aggressive PMCs and scavs.
- Spawn hotspots: Room 314 desk, jackets in dorm hallways, two-story dorm marked rooms
- Tip: Enter dorms from the north staircase to minimize exposure
Trailer Park Portable Cabin Key
Skier provides this key automatically in your mailbox after accepting the quest, eliminating the need to search for it. Keep it in your secure container to prevent loss. It grants access to the bunkhouse where the lighter must be planted.
Finding the Gilded Zibbo Lighter
Head to the three-story dorms building, located centrally on Customs. Use the Dorm room 303 key to enter the specified room on the top floor—typically the first door on the right from the northern external staircase.
Inside room 303, scan the desk near candles; the shimmering Gilded Zibbo lighter sits prominently there. It’s a quest item, so it occupies special inventory slots and won’t be lost on death if stored properly. Avoid unnecessary noise to evade nearby threats.
| Approach Route | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| North Staircase | Quick access to third floor | Exposed to snipers |
| South Entrance | Cover from buildings | Longer path through dorms |
| Old Gas Station Spawn | Low player density initially | Requires crossing open fields |
Once obtained, store the lighter in your secure container immediately to safeguard it during transit.
Stashing the Lighter in the Trailer Park
With the lighter in hand, navigate to the trailer park south of the large Paradigm warehouse (often called Big Red). The target is a small blue-shingled portable cabin just north of this warehouse, past a fence and across the road from scattered trailers.
Unlock the door using the Trailer park portable cabin key. Enter and interact (default F key) with the stash point immediately to the left. Hold position for 30 seconds—a progress bar fills, but any movement resets it. Completion registers instantly, even if you die afterward.
- Safe Route: From dorms, skirt west along the dorm fence, cross near the blue shack, then proceed south
- High-Risk Alternative: Direct path past trailers exposes you to campers

Advanced Strategies for Success
Customs is a hotspot, so employ stealth and positioning.
- Loadout Suggestion: Budget kits with suppressed pistols; prioritize keys and lighter protection
- Timing: Raid during off-peak hours to reduce player encounters
- Group Play: Coordinate—one loots dorms, another secures trailer park
- Backup Plan: If killed en route, repeat efficiently since no extract needed
Monitor sound cues and use bushes for cover during the 30-second plant. Pre-stash keys in your container for multiple attempts.
Common Pitfalls and Fixes
Avoid these errors to prevent frustration:
- Moving During Plant: Stand completely still; crouch if needed
- Key Loss: Secure container everything quest-related
- Wrong Cabin: Confirm it’s the portable one north of Big Red, not nearby bunkhouses
- Overgearing: Don’t risk valuables; treat as a rat run
Integration with Other Quests
Golden Swag pairs well with Customs tasks like Delivery from the Past or The Cult. Part 1. Combine runs to maximize efficiency, but prioritize lighter safety.
